Therapy Grant Recipients

The Blossom Mental Health Fund (BMHF) is committed to making psychotherapy as accessible as possible for Asian Canadians. Through our therapy grants program, we aim to provide funding to Asian Canadians facing financial barriers to therapy.

The program is open to Asian-identifying adults ages 18+ currently residing in Ontario* and facing financial barriers to therapy.

If you are accepted in the program, you will receive eight, 50-minute sessions with a therapist/provider from BMHF’s therapy grants program. You are responsible for scheduling your own session with the provider, and BMHF will pay your provider directly. Sessions may be virtual or in-person, depending on you and your selected provider.

*our pilot program is currently available to Ontario providers and recipients only. We hope to expand across Canada in the near future.

NOTE: Our grants program is currently on pause. Please check back for updates.

FAQs

How does the grant work?

Who is eligible for grants?

Our first round of grants will be available to individuals of Asian descent, ages 18+, currently residing in Ontario and facing financial barriers to therapy. Applications will be reviewed by our team of mental health professionals and experts and will be granted on a needs-basis. We aim to expand the program to the rest of Canada, so please keep checking back for updates.

When can I apply for the grant?

We are working on securing funding to make these grants available to you as soon as possible. Please keep checking back for more information and updates.

Where do sessions take place?

Sessions can be virtual or in-person, depending on you and your provider.

What happens if I need more than 8 sessions?

Due to anticipated demand, grants can only be offered to individuals once per calendar year. Once you finish your 8th session, you may speak to your therapist to see if they can offer you a sliding scale rate at their discretion.

I don’t live in Canada. Where can I seek financial help for therapy?

If you’re living in the United States, please check out the Asian Mental Health Collective’s Lotus Therapy Fund.
